 Emmaus Family,

Thank you so much for your generosity in 2021!  While this year has been very different in the life of Emmaus, it is no exaggeration to say that we have seen God do great and mighty things and He has advanced His plans and purposes through our little community.  You have had a huge part in that story. 

Each one of you made this family what it is and have been co-laborers in following Jesus around every twist and turn this year brought. We have seen His continued faithfulness to this community as He provided for our every need.  As we moved from Cary to downtown Raleigh, commenced and completed a lengthy but beautiful building renovation, began to meet in-person amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, and said goodbye to old friends while welcoming new ones.  We know there is continued uncertainty in what lies ahead for us, but we expect that to be met with His equal faithfulness at every step. With the many moving pieces and daily decisions that this last season of life has brought us all, it has been refreshing for me to remember that even though we don't see all, we see Jesus in it all (Heb. 2:8-9). 

The ability to stand here at the threshold of 2022 fills me with much joy as I think about this family and what measure of His faithfulness he has in store for us in the days, weeks and months ahead. We assuredly don’t have the answers, but Jesus does. And this is where we will be spending our energies over the next year--being with Jesus, and following Him into the work that He is doing in Pilot Mill, Mordecai, DTR, and throughout the Triangle. 

I love that Emmaus has always been a special place that has modeled the generosity of our God to all who have been a part. Y’all  have always leaned-in to seek the God who owns it all and followed the command to test him with your faith and finances, and 2021 was no exception! Would you please join me in closing our year by giving generously and starting 2022 by pressing into the mission of following him into all that He has for us and His world!
